Aaron K Wilson - About Me

Thank you for taking the  time to  find out a little more about me.

My name is Aaron, the founder of Aaron K Wilson Therapy and Life Coaching.

I live and work in Kent but have in some ways led a 'nomadic' existence. have previous careers in Business consultancy, Law and latterly as a Teacher.

I, like many have faced difficult times and challenges in my life.  At times, things just seemed like an ongoing and constant battle.

As I reflected on this, in more positive moments, I recognised that I was stronger, more determined and more resilient than I ever thought I was.  I began to appreciate my own value and in doing so offered myself the respect I deserve.  At this point, I knew that I had to take a leap in creating a life that I wanted – which ultimately would be to help others to appreciate their own value and capability.

With that in mind I began my journey in training to full qualification as an integrative Counsellor and later as a Life Coach.   As part of my professional training, I was required to engage with my own therapeutic process with my own Counsellor and indeed with a Life Coach with a view that in order to understand and support others, I needed to be in a good place myself.

Having reached that point in my life of reflection, contemplation and development, I took  what i see as the rather bold decision to redirect my entire career path in pursuit of a role that supported my experience, skill set and values.

To that end, I created Aaron K Wilson Therapy which reflects my appreciation of the uniqueness of the individual.  That is to say an appreciation of ‘what is it that makes you, you?’  In working with this understanding, I am best placed to help you recognise what changes you want to make. To work with you in reflection and action for the improvements you want in your life.

In broad terms, my philosophy is that we are all ‘okay’.  There isn’t something wrong with you or me just because we think, feel or behave in a certain way.  It is that from our earliest experiences and ongoing throughout life, we understand and interpret the world in a certain way both positively and negatively.   It is this which informs our processes, our actions, our decisions. It informs who we are, who we feel we are and what our place is in the world.  I see my role, not as one as a ‘fixer’  but as guide to bringing about self-awareness, autonomy and empowerment for those I work with.

Why have I told taken the time to tell you about me?

Put simply, I am telling you this so that you can see that though your life and experience is unique, I have also done the work and therefor can see things from the outset from your perspective.  With that in mind, alongside my professional qualification, knowledge and life experience, I am well placed to be on the journey alongside you toward your more fulfilling life.  I will help you to understand what life is for you. To consider your own internal resources and resilience in how you deal with challenge and how you might move forward in an improved life for you.

I work with empathetic understanding in a way that values you as a unique individual.  A way that will not judge and way that maximises your strength and autonomy.

Through a variety of life experiences and professional expertise in working with people of all ages and backgrounds, I can offer a fully inclusive and safe space for you to explore a past, a present and a future as you determine what is important to you.  In following your own process with a professional, you will be better placed to understand yourself, your relationships and your life experiences.  In greater understanding and awareness you can recognise areas which continue to limit you and make different choices which are more likely to lead to fulfilment in moving forward.
